On the rocks and beaches of the tiny island of North Ronaldsay live herds of rare breed sheep. Both their diet of seaweed and the harsh weather conditions produce a fleece which is warm and thick with a long staple, and the yarn spun from theese fleeces is both soft and hard wearing - North Ronaldsay wool, beautiful to knit with and as hardy as the sheep themselves comes direct to the Stronsay shop from the mill by the lighthouse on North Ronaldsay.
